Odoo has a powerful price list feature to support a pricing strategy tailored to your business with Promotion programs in Odoo. A price list is a list of prices or price rules that Odoo searches to determine the suggested price. Thus, you can set several criteria to use a specific price: periods, min. sold quantity (meet a minimum order quantity and get a price break), etc. As price lists only suggest prices, they can be overridden by users completing sales orders. TYPES OF SALES PRICE LIST IN ODOO

• Multiple sales prices per product :

This option allows the user to create price lists for your customer segments or used to set different price lists with different currencies.

• Prices computed from formulas :

This option allows the user to set price change rules. Changes can be relative to the public price, product cost price, or to another price list. Calculation of changes is made upon the surcharges and discounts making it fit the minimum and maximum margin set by the user. Further, Odoo enables the rounding of prices to the nearest cent or dollar or even the multiple of both.
Therefore, this blog describes how to manage sales price list in Odoo.

Go to the settings of Sales, tick the checkbox Multiple Sales Prices per product and save changes.
Sales ->Configuration -> Settings -> Pricing -> Multiple Sales Prices per product

After enabling this option then go to Catalogue of Sales and select Price lists, there you can see the available list of price lists in Odoo,

Sales ->Catalogue -> Price lists

Here the user can create new price list by clicking the button create. Then a page like this will open.

Here we can see a section discount policy ,were we gets two options

• Discount included in the price:

when the user select this option ,It does not show the public price and discounts to the customer.

• Show public price and discount to the customer :

It shows public price and discounts to the customer.
Currency:

One can set different currency price lists

Country Groups:

Here the user can select the country groups. Thus, user can select either from the existing country group or the user can create a new country group and select it.

Moreover, to understand the working of whole these things let’s create a price list for India

Catalogue -> Price lists -> click “Create” button.

After creating a price list, next create a customer from the country we mentioned above.

Sales -> Customers -> Create

Without selecting the price list manually save it. Later select the sales & purchases tab of that customer we created, we can see the price list is updated automatically.

Prices per Customer Segment and Currencies :

Odoo Price list can also be used to manage the prices in Foreign Currencies.

Install Accounting/invoicing module

Invoicing -> Settings -> Currencies -> Activate Multi-Currencies

To activate new currency, select Activate other currencies, select it in the list and activate the currency you want. You can see the currencies drop-down lists.

Then set a product’s sales price list at public price in your company’s main currency.

Here the product “dominar” has two price lists

The price lists are “India(INR)” and “America(USD)” and both having minimum quantity one and set price as Rs 15 and $10 respectively. Let’s sell this product with these price list so we can analyse its working.

Sales -> Orders ->click “ create” button

then set price list as “India(INR)” and add a product dominar then confirm.

then set price list as “America(USD)”

Then we can see the difference.

Prices computed from Formulas:

As a result, now, go for enabling the second option Prices computed from formulas (discounts, margins, roundings) from Settings of Sales tick the option and save changes.

Sales -> Configuration -> Settings -> Pricing -> Multiple Sales Prices per product

Select Prices computed from formulas (discounts, margins, rounding).

Then create a price list:

on clicking all products ,then you will get a screen like this,

Apply on:

One can apply rule by following options.

Global– To apply price list on all products.
Category of product – To apply price list on selected product category(eg. sealable, fruits, electronics)
Product– To apply price list on a specific product.
Product variants–  To apply price list on specific product variants.
Minimum Quantity– Minimum quantity that required to apply Price list rule.
Start Date– Starting date for applying price list.
End Date– Ending date for applying price list.

Price computation:

Used for calculating the price in different methods.

Fix price– To apply a fixed price for a product or group of products.
Percentage (discount)– To define a percentage discount on the sales price of products/product variants/product category.
Formula– Price of the product will calculated by using formula.
Public price: Formula will be calculated on Sales price of the product.
Cost: Formula will be calculated on cost.
Other price list: Formula will be calculated on other price list.
Price Discount– Field to enter percentage discounts to the price.
Min.margin– Option to ensure the minimum profit per product.
Max.margin– Option to set the maximum profit per product
Surcharge– It’s a fixed supplement to the price. An additional charge or discount charge used to calculate the new price. This amount ijust added (subtracted if negative) to the amount calculated with the field of price discount.
Rounding method– Prices can rounded to the nearest cent/dollar or multiple of either (nearest 5 cents, nearest 10 dollars)

E-Commerce Price list in Odoo:

Firstly, install the E-commerce module from Apps. After successful installation of the e-commerce module, then the price list will be like this

E-commerce Promotional code:

These codes are used to apply any kind of discounts.
Selectable:

Enable the option to allow the end users to choose this price list from e-commerce module.
Allow to use on:

Specify the website the price list would be applicable.

Thus, when we can see the price lists which is selectable, these selectable price lists are available to choose from the e-commerce module.

Point of Sale Price list in Odoo:

Firstly, install point of sales module from app. Then set a product available on Point Of Sale.

Go to Point of sales -> Configuration > Point of Sale -> Click create

here actually we are selecting a shop so we are including the price list available on that shop.

Then go to , Point of Sale -> Dashboard -> POS session

select the session that you configured and click on the New Session button.

Then select a product , we can see an option to select the price list from where we can select as our wish.

When a new sales order is created, it always chooses the default price list and when you change to a customer that has a different price list, the current order, and the listed product prices will be updated accordingly.
